06 MEMBER OF THE MONTH
JET-SETTING
FITNESS BUFF
A sports and ftness enthusiast, Christine Whelan
takes part in a wide spectrum of physical
activities like zumba, tennis and running. Her
latest passion for golf has brought her to my golf
kaki and despite being a busy mother of two,
Christine fnds time to golf with many of her kakis
at our events.
CHRISTINE
When and why did you start golfng? WHELAN
I picked up golf at the age of 20 but eventually stopped Ordinary member
due to work commitments. It was only about 3 years since 2013
ago that I started getting into golf more. It helped that
I have an awesome mentor who gives me priceless
guidance and puts up with my emotional tantrums!
(laughs).
Do the rest of your family golf?
My daughter (7) and son (9) recently took up golfng.
In fact, my son just obtained his Profciency Certifcate
with Star Golf Academy. My husband doesn’t golf but
I’m thankful that he’s very supportive and subsidizes
my green fees!
You have quite an assortment You have referred numerous
of clubs in your bag. Any friends to join us…
favourites? Yes. I recommended them my golf kaki
My Cleveland 52 wedge and PING mainly because of the discounted rates
Piper putter. They have saved me time at several courses and great opportunities
and time again when others failed and to play with great rates during club-
