A Proficiency Certificate is normally issued by a golf club to allow a new golfer to play on regulation sized golf courses in order to gain sufficient experience and play the required number of rounds (3 x full 18-hole rounds) prior to their Handicap Test (Courtesy Round). PCs normally have an expiry date as they confer temporary playing privileges and the golfer is expected to take the necessary steps to obtain a golf Handicap.
Holders of a valid My Golf Kaki Proficiency Certificate are allowed to play at Marina Bay Golf Course on weekdays before 2.00pm only, subject to booking and availability of tee times without having to undergo a swing check test. They are also allowed to ballot for Golf Passes to play at Orchid Country Club on weekdays.
To obtain a My Golf Kaki Proficiency Certificate, the golfer MUST complete a Golf Workshop on the Rules of Golf and Golf Etiquette as well as a practical test at the driving range. Proper golf attire is compulsory.
Proficiency Certificates issued by local golf clubs who are associated members of the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) are also recognized if evidence of Golf Rules and Etiquette Workshop attendance can be provided. Otherwise, the golfer is required to attend such a workshop with My Golf Kaki.
The applicant must pass both the theory and practical components of the test in order to qualify for a Proficiency Certificate.
Registration for the Proficiency Certificate can be done with My Golf Kaki appointed test center:
